I had a great time visiting the Ice Park in Cresco, PA. It was early in the morning when I arrived, and I had my drone and camera with me, ready to capture some shots. The park isn’t huge, but it’s got this peaceful vibe. You can pretty much walk through the whole thing in about 20 minutes, which was nice since I had the place mostly to myself.

One of the highlights is definitely Crystal Lake. It’s a remote spot, surrounded by trees, and even though it’s not a massive lake, it’s incredibly beautiful. As I stood there, I kept thinking about how stunning it will look once fall rolls in. All those trees turning vibrant shades of orange, red, and yellow. I’ve already made a mental note to come back then and capture the change. Expect another blog from me when that happens!

The lake also has this calmness that makes you stop for a minute. It got me thinking ahead to winter—I’m pretty sure it’ll be popular for ice skating once the lake freezes over. I could easily picture families out there, enjoying the ice, and I definitely want to catch that scene too. Maybe a third visit in winter is on the cards for me!
With my drone, I managed to get some cool aerial footage of the lake and surrounding park. The view from up above gives such a different perspective, and it’s one of the things I love about using a drone. There’s something about capturing the vastness of a place that just adds another layer to the experience. Of course, I took plenty of photos too. You know I never leave a place without a good batch of those!
Even though the park isn’t large, it’s one of those places that feels like a hidden gem. The quietness of the morning, the still water of the lake, and the fresh air made the whole trip worth it. I could see myself coming here more often, especially since it’s not far from where I live.
So yeah, this was just the first of many visits to the Ice Park. Next time, it’ll be all about the fall colors, and then maybe some winter action with ice skaters. Stay tuned!
