Racemotive Event at Pocono Raceway: A Day of High-Speed Action

The Racemotive event at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, PA was an absolute blast! I (Ferdie), along with Jeff, Jai, and Allan, had an incredible time covering the action. It was no surprise that racer tickets were sold out, with the high level of excitement in the air. The event kicked off bright and early at 7:15 AM, and from the moment the first cars lined up, we knew it was going to be a day to remember.

Early Morning Start and Engine Blowouts

The sun was just starting to rise as the event began, providing a perfect backdrop for the start of the races. One thing that really stood out during the day was the number of engine blowouts. It seemed like every few races, there was an engine failure, leading to oil spills on the track. However, the event officials were on top of it, ensuring the raceway was quickly cleaned and ready for the next round of races. The safety measures in place were impressive, and despite the delays, the energy and excitement remained high.

A Lineup Dominated by Corvettes and BMWs

One of the most exciting parts of the event was the abundance of Corvettes and BMWs on the track. These cars dominated the event and each brought its own level of thrill. It was a real treat for us to photograph and film them up close. But among the gas-powered cars, one vehicle that really caught our attention was a sleek gray Tesla. Its electric power and performance on the track were nothing short of impressive, standing out in the midst of more traditional racers.

A Maserati, a Porsche, and High-End Cars on Display

In addition to the Corvettes, BMWs, and the Tesla, a stunning Maserati graced the track, adding a touch of luxury to the day. We captured some amazing shots of it tearing down the raceway. Not to be outdone, a Porsche also made an appearance, further adding to the variety of high-performance cars that made the event a spectacle. Seeing such a wide range of high-end vehicles competing was a real highlight.

Capturing Unique Angles with GoPros and Photography Gear

Allan was in charge of setting up the GoPros to capture the races from unique angles, and his work was outstanding. His footage perfectly complemented what Jeff and I were capturing with our cameras. Jeff and I took on the main photography and video coverage, and we were particularly excited to test out a new Neewer microphone on Jeff’s Sony camera. Paired with a DJI gimbal, the setup worked flawlessly, and we were thrilled with the audio and video quality throughout the day.

Action in the Pit Area and Vantage Points Along the Raceway

We spent a good portion of the day in the pit area, capturing candid moments of drivers and their crews as they prepped their cars for the races. The energy in the pit is always electric, and it’s one of the best places to get up close to the action. We also ventured to several vantage points along the side of the raceway, where we got some incredible shots of cars zooming by at full speed. One of the best spots we found was the top viewer’s area on the second floor, giving us a clear view of the entire raceway for some wide-angle shots.

The Thrill of High-Speed Action and a Passionate Crowd

Throughout the day, the atmosphere was electric, and the crowd was enthusiastic, cheering on their favorite cars and drivers. Even with occasional engine blowouts, the energy never wavered, and each race brought something new and exciting. It was clear that everyone was there to witness something special, and it felt amazing to capture that energy through our cameras.

Wrapping Up an Incredible Day at Pocono Raceway

As the day went on, we experimented with different angles and equipment, capturing some of the best moments of the event. The combination of high-performance cars, a passionate crowd, and the adrenaline-fueled atmosphere made for some stunning photos and videos. By the end of the day, we had more than enough content to work with, and we couldn’t wait to review it all.

All in all, it was an amazing day at Pocono Raceway. Being part of the official media team alongside Jeff, Jai, and Allan made the event even more special. The sold-out crowd, variety of cars, and thrilling races made it one of the best events we’ve covered. We’re already looking forward to the next Racemotive event and can’t wait to bring our cameras, equipment, and passion for capturing high-speed action to the forefront once again.
